Siport21 has been awarded acontract from Qatargas, for up to six years,to deliver navigation studies mainly focused to guarantee the safety of operations at the Ras Laffan Industrial City (RLIC) port expansion projects.
The area of interest for this project includesnew Oil and LNG Terminals that must be fully and safely integrated into the rest of the current and future port operations.
Nautical studies are proposed involving determination ofoperational limits, manoeuvring and tugs assistance, Mooring Analysis andRisk assessment. The contract scope includes the possibility of delivering nautical studies in other terminals where Qatargas-charteredvessels operate.
For more than 19 years, Siport21 has executed projects for Qatargas in different terminals around theworld: Poland, Thailand, Pakistan, Jordan, Norway, and Greece. Several studies have been developed involving Qatargas-charteredfleet, in particular Q-Flex and Q-Max vessels.
The recognition from this contract and the opportunity to support Qatargas with the Ras Laffan Port developments is a fantastic opportunity. The outlook for Siport21 operations looks very positive, and these new contracts will allow them to invest in their business to ensure continued high levels of service and growth across new sectors and new markets.

More than 20 years’ experience, Siport21 is a maritime and port engineering consultancy company focused on ship manoeuvring and ship behaviour. Their facilities include a Real-Time Ship Manoeuvre Simulation Center approved by DNV as the only Maritime Training Provider in Spain.
